Episode 12

Link to Video : https://youtu.be/OYSgPOyKyDs

In this episode I'd like to show why Republicans say Social Security is going broke and we're not going to be able to sufficiently take care of the people that paid into it.

Elon Musk has called it a Ponzi scheme. That's only because Elon and all his billionaire and millionaire friends including Donald Trump don't pay their fair share. If billionaires and millionaires paid their fair share we would have enough for a living wage from Social Security for all the people that their businesses make sick from cutting regulations to save money.

Here is a list of all the PDF’s that I used in this episode they are downloadable so you can see anything that I missed.

1_ Congressman Panetta, I was not able to ask the question at your Town Hall in Cambria.pdf

2_Contribution and Benefit Base.pdf This refers to the 6.2% of a worker’s salary that is taken out of their pay. In 2025 this means the maximum that they take out of your pay for the year is $176,100. This means that anybody making over this amount does not have money taken out of their pay for the full year. This also means that 94% of workers make up the greatest portion that Social Security takes in. This also means that the rich do not pay their fair share of taxes.

>3_History of Federal Minimum Wage Rates Under the Fair Labor Standards Act, 1938 - 2009 _ U.S. Department of Labor.pdf This explains the minimum wage from 1938 when it was created till 2009 when the last minimum wage was raised.

4_Chief Executive Officer Salary, Hourly Rate (March, 2025) in the United States _ Salary.com.pdf This shows the rate of pay that executive officers make that make the rules and regulations for the companies. These executives should be paying into Social Security for at least six months after all their employees pay year-round.

5_Social Security 2100 Act _ Congressman John Larson.pdf This is a brief assessment for the bill which does not go far enough to protect workers in my opinion.

>6_Text - H.R.4583 - 118th Congress (2023-2024)_ Social Security 2100 Act _ Congress.gov _ Library of Congress.pdf This is the entire bill the congressman John Larson is proposing. I do not think it goes far enough because it's still only based on workers’ salaries and not the salaries of executive officers of the company.

7_required to pay the Social Security tax .pdf pdf This shows how outdated the contribution and benefit base for Social Security really is. By raising the contribution and benefit base to $400,000 per year it will help but still operates on workers’ salaries. If the contribution and benefit space was raised to $1,000,000 workers that retire and are disabled in work related injuries would be compensated above the poverty level.

>8_ Reply from Senator Adam Schiff.pdf The tone of this reply is that senator Schiff agrees with congressman Larson on the $400,000 contribution and benefit base. What senator Schiff Is not looking at is that it only uses workers salary 400,000 dollars is what the upper middle class makes which are working individuals not executives running the company. Yet Senator Schiff states “I believe that all seniors, not just a privileged few, must be able to retire with dignity and respect”. This is another way to give the rich a tax break by not making them pay their fair share after all they make the rules and regulations for their companies which put workers at risk.

9_Alex Padilla US Senator.pdf Nowhere in this reply does Senator Padilla mention Social Security.

Average Salary in the U.S. in 2024.pdf

>Highest Paying Occupations _ Occupational Outlook Handbook_ _ U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.pdf

Trump and Musk Are Trying to Dismantle Social Security From the Inside _ Truthout.pdf

SenWarren5_18_25.pdf Senator Warren is simply and briefly explaining that the trump administration is lying about Social Security fraud

Senator Kennedy.pdf Senator Kennedy is telling people to “get off their ass and get a job” when it comes to Medicaid. In the past a lot of Republicans have told people like myself on Social Security with work related injuries basically the same thing. Only then it was “get off your ass and get a job you don't look sick enough to be on Social Security”. I don't know how many times I've heard this not only from Republicans that I knew but politicians I meet with.

As it states in the picture “The cruelty is the point of these people” nothing else.
